I am getting my camera gear in order. Checking that I have the right lenses for the job ahead. I am on a quest to take the best pictures I can …. of tulips.

On the 9th the quest begins. My companion, is a photographer like myself. If it is picture worthy [and what isn’t] a single word will start an itchy trigger finger. After a sort discussion the trip was on.

So we are off to the Skagit Tulip Festival in Washington. Cameras in hand and eyes open to all of the possibilities.

I will post when I can and there might be a picture or two.

I got extension tubes last year and here are some examples of the photo’s taken with them. Had heard that there were problem using them, The only problem I had was getting close enough with my 18 – 200 “walk around” lens. Overcoming that problem only meant that I had to understand what the extension tubes did.  Here it explains it a lot better than I can. – http://digital-photography-school.com/extension-tubes-close-up-photography-lesson-2. Once I figured that out, I shot some things on the table and was pleased with the results. Pears, closeup ImageImageThe stitching on my Acer tablet portfolio and the button taken with extension tubes.

These stamps were on an envelope sent to my father in the early 60’s. My how things have changed since then.
